Pterophyllum Scalar
Pterophyllum Scalare lives in the Amazon River basin in Peru, Brazil and Colombia, particularly in the Ucayali, Solimoes and Amazonas rivers, the Amapá rivers in Brazil, the Oyapoque in French Guiana and the Essequibo in Guyana. The Scalare Fish has been called “The King of Fish” for the majesty of its stylish shape. It is very popular in domestic aquariums and freshwater fish.
Pterophyllum Scalare is a thin, triangle-shaped cichlid with very long and pointed pectoral fins. It can reach 15 cm in length and is characterized by its lateral slenderness; The dorsal and anal fins are very large and form a triangle in the general appearance of the fish. The caudal fin is also large, and the abdominal ones have become two long rays up to 8 cm.
