Origin and Closed Season Period
This is the origin of the Wild Fish, emphasizing the importance of small streams and brooks as sources of ornamental fish. These places become breeding grounds during the "Veda Season" when the fish use this time to reproduce and grow. The "Veda Season" is described as a period of restriction for fishing, transportation, and commercialization of fish.
Transportation from Remote Regions
During this stage, wild fish are artisanally extracted and transported to gathering points in regions like Puerto Carreño, Puerto Inírida, Leticia, among others. It's stressed how fishermen respect the Veda season and take care of the fish during the trip, ensuring that the temperature of the water in the bags where the fish are transported does not exceed 29 degrees Celsius. This often necessitates multiple stops or travel during cooler hours to prevent overheating.
Adaptation in Collection Centers and Export Process
Now our Wild Fish are undergoing adaptation in regional collection centers, where they are carefully treated to rest and prepare for their next journey. The process for export preparation is detailed, focusing on adjusting the water pH and acclimatizing the fish to different water conditions from their origin, emphasizing specific care during this period.
Journey and Preparation for International Destinations
During this phase of the journey, the wild fish arrives at the new fattening collection center in the capital, where the fish are observed, and, depending on their stress levels, they're given necessary natural medications. The fish should remain at this center for a minimum of 15 days. This is where the fish strengthen and prepare for long and international trips, emphasizing the care and equipment used to maintain proper conditions during transportation, such as special water filters and pH regulation based on the destination's conditions.
Arrival and Final Home
In this last stage, our wild fish are placed in the corresponding fish store, where they'll remain until they recover from the stress that might have been caused by the journey. Later, they'll be handed over to their owner, who can enjoy the aquarium they've prepared, becoming their final home. This could be anywhere in the world and its the Wild Fish from its origin to international aquariums adventure.
